Paul Shuler Straight up great instrumental. Relentless melodies without a redundant song structure-theme. The rhythm section keeps up with the leads perfectly and they balance well. This guy does a amazing job at implementing piano, bass, guitar, etc..into the song. "He's a very adept music player." Favorite track: Sprockets.
Russell Whyman

Russell Whyman The shredding part of my collection. Alex is very talented and obviously enjoys what he does. If you like your music with more notes per minute than the mind can comfortably imagine give this a go.
Dan Maharry

Dan Maharry Love this find. Happy to discover a new generation of shredder continuing on the mantle from Vai, Becker, and Malmsteen. Alek has that vibe and sound. Go Darson! Favorite track: Waltz of Titans.

The Rind 05:56
The Rind (V. Lalic/A. Darson) Used, abused Strip down the rind away from me What if I took off the mask And see there’s nothing to find but a blank space between me and I Close my eyes, I wanna sew them shut Cause the world’s a stage Bow down and play your part What if I loose my own myself Misplace it, and replace it with a small god What if I should become gravity That pulls and ties you to the ground Used, abused Strip down the rind away from me Sargent: “Soldier get your ass on that stage and dance! Dance!” Don’t you know that the rise comes from the fall Infinity should end any time now So free your mind Free your mind But, what if I lied What if the soldiers were toys Would their guns glow What if it’s all been a show Doctor: “Yes, it seems little boy... hmm... what’s that red dot on your forehead?” Get off the light! Get off the light! Get off the light! Get away! Get away! There has got to be a little something bittersweet thing to fill me when I’m hollow Gotta get away from the window Gotta get away from the window There’ve got to be some slight changes, rearranges to be easier to swallow, Gotta get away from, gotta... gotta get away from the Window! Window! Window... Window... Ocean rise A horizon blue Ocean rise Think of the ocean as your mind Turn around and see the world you found Stop the feeling and seeking Tuck in and hug warm fear There has got to be a little something bittersweet thing to fill me when I’m hollow There’ve got to be slight changes, rearranges to be easier to swallow How can make this reality vanish when all of past things and today are the same Laughing but crying, cause something is nothing, These red-blue capsules are to blame Trauma wakes again What if I’m longing for my release I’m lost between my selves, and nothing will ever change, I’m lost What if I should break free Got to get away from the window (Used, abused) Got to get away from the window (Strip down the rind away from me) Got to get away from the window Got to get away from the...

about

During my last 10 years of professional music experience I went through many emotional states. Being in numerous different projects and acts gave me insight into a large scope of personal mindsets, ranging from experiencing the lowest of disapproval and despise, to the highest bliss of love and acceptation. This EP’s musical realm depicts all those emotions about the world and what they came down to. I look at it as a Panopticon, a perfect all seeing prison, where a single guard is the omni-observant. The big question stands: are we the guard, or the prisoner? I hope this music gets you a bit closer to my innermost world.
